I’ve just spent a few minutes checking out Animoto, a automated video maker that takes photos and edits them to flashy music. As far as the art form of editing goes, they’ve got the flashy transitions done fairly well, and for a quick “I just want something fun” video, its fairly awesome. The whole process is probably easy enough for just about anyone to grasp, and the interface tries to walk you through step by step. From picking photo’s, to selecting music, its very well done. Here are a couple video’s I created with content that I have just laying around.

And another one, a tiny bit shorter because I ran into some bugs on the image selector, not sure whats going on, but when I arrange the slide order, some of the thumbnails come back? I started with 21 images, and after deleting a few, they also came back. The site says beta, so be warned.

They have a full length video option available, and they can upload it straight to youtube should that be your destination of choice. You have to pay to download the full length videos, and if you have high enough resolution images, theres even a DVD output! Full service one stop shopping for all your flashy marketing needs.

The sign up is free, the quality is decent for a quick portfolio, I’d call that a win. Head over to Animoto and check it out.
