Been a while, but I’m back in the saddle, I’ve taken the reins once again, and I’m ready to ride.

So my last few posts were showing you how I go about the modeling process when Im working in my tools. I might have mentioned that I was working on some new stuff to show you, and well…I wasnt kidding. I took a slight detour while working on that stuff, did some summer stuff, gaming, grilling and loving life. In that same time, we (ascension games) took stock of what we intended to do with our projects, and made some fairly significant leaps of faith. To my team : I’m proud of the courage you’ve shown.

Now, whats this blog post is supposed to be about? I’m previewing a few meshes that I’m preparing to put out to the model store. I’m doing this for several reasons, prevalent amongst them are that I want to get better at my craft, and perhaps the best reasons of all: help out some of my fellow indy developers, and help pay for the tools which we purchased to take said adventure. I’m not here to boast about my prowess or lack there of. Believe me, there are better artists than myself out there. Go find their work and appreciate it, I’ll wait for you…

See? Told you. So I was saying, here are a couple of preview pics to whet your appetite, including a sneak peak of the follow up to our first model-pack. To the previews!

The first few images here are of some zbrush projects I’ve been working on. These are definitely on the way to the store soon, keep your eyes peeled. If you’d like to be notified when they go on sale, join the Mailing List, or just book mark our site. We’ll make sure we get the word out.

Ninja King Makeover

The ninja-king gets a make-over. he’s been working out, and is a bit tougher looking than he used to be. The concept here was more high tech, more organic.

The Zbrush files that we’re planning on giving you, have all the subdivision levels included, so if you have an artist on your project who can use Zbrush, you can ask him to change what ever about the model you want. You can also use this model and Zbrush to generate higher resolution normal maps, ambient occlusion maps, and even displacement maps to use in cinematic movie production.

This guy is only partially done, but I’m fairly excited ebcause I’ve always wanted to do something like it, and Zbrush is the perfect place to do it! This model in particular is going to have each of the components about this mesh on a different layer in the file. This means you can scale up the scales, or even tone it down. Its like dailing a disease! You can make him very viral or not, your choice. Its like I’m giving you several models in this one. Dont miss it!

The viral symbiont in this fella is’nt about to let him die.

Next we have one that you should recognize, with only minor changes in the mesh, but you should be able to purchase soon.

The NinjaPack Queen is also getting a treatment. She’s still being constructed in 3ds Max right now, but here’s a sneak peak. More shadow like, and some extra weapons. I think it needs more cowbell, but ninja’s dont use cowbells unless the situation calls for it. We’ll see.

And, even further with the sneaky peaky, is an animation I’ve been working on with some of the meshes I have. This is far from complete but it helps me establish more about the characters as I work on them, and from time to time a new look falls out for further use in other projects. This isnt the animation, but a screen grab from it.

This is the big guy, and the Queen as she exists right now. They’re not happy with one another for some reason, and theres some violence brewing. Sweet delicious violence.

So, thats it. Join the mailing list, and be kept informed of some promotional stuff that we’re planning. There might even be something in it for you, and your project.
